Announcing our "Campaign for the Future"

There is a sign carved in wood outside the Lodge at Four Winds*Westward Ho that reads, “This camp is built to music, therefore built forever.” It could just as easily say that “this camp is built to poetry, or adventure, or for the child who discovers that the world is full of infinite possibilities, therefore built forever.”

Three generations of campers at this camp hidden away on Orcas Island in Washington state have wondered why the songs, the poetry, the adventure and the friendships they made have stayed with them all of their lives. Perhaps they will never know. But what they do know, and what we know, is that this camp is a rare and wonderful place that we must preserve and treasure for future generations.

That is why the Board of Trustees has launched Campaign for the Future with the goal of raising $3.2 million in capital, endowment and annual fund money over the next three years.

Ruth A. Brown, Founder
This campaign will enable camp to improve and replace aging camp buildings, help sustain the financial aid program, provide program funding so that camp continues to be a rich and varied experience for all campers, and maintain the annual operating budget.

With your help we will ensure that Four Winds *Westward Ho will continue to be a very special experience for generations of children to come.

Campaign Goals

Our campaign goal is $3.2 million with $1 million to be allocated for immediate capital needs, $1.8 million allocated for endowment and $400,000 allocated for annual support for three years. The campaign will:
