Capital Priorities - $1,000,000
|
| It is critical that Four Winds * Westward Ho replace or renovate both program space and housing.
Many of camp's buildings date back to the 1940s and need significant improvements or complete replacement. All buildings will be designed to meet the most pressing programmatic and housing needs and will honor the historical theme and
design of camp.

Water System Improvements - $220,000
Much of camp’s water system is 40 years old and
deteriorating. Buried waterlines that carry water from
the tanks to the shower houses are leaking. Hire a water engineering
firm to study the water and sanitation system
from the wells, pumps, and tanks to the distribution points
and make recommendations regarding comprehensive,
long-term improvements. Implement changes to secure
the future of this vital part of camp’s infrastructure.

Craft Courts - $435,000
Rebuild the crafts courts to expand and improve the art space. This space is used continually during the summer and must be replaced to ensure quality programming. Add exhibition areas and a museum for historical artifacts and donor recognition. Program areas to be included in the new space - woodworking, pottery, fiber arts, general arts, open classroom space, and archival and exhibit space.
|
The new craft courts are a breath of fresh air for camp. They have
given camp a truly remarkable place to create art and to teach
kids in an environment that is created for that sole purpose.
